Proximity — Crypto Data App Privacy Policy (Final Version – February 23, 2026)

2. Overview

Proximity is a solo-developed crypto intelligence app: live prices, on-chain metrics, macro data, ETF flows, technical signals, AI recaps, public Telegram/X/newsletter sentiment scans — fully customizable, no trading, no custody, no wallet connection required.

No registration needed. No email or username collected by default. We collect the bare minimum required to run the app. No data selling. No advertising. No user profiling.

3. What We Collect

• Optional user-created content: watchlists, portfolios, price alerts, dashboard layouts (stored securely — device-local first, cloud-synced only if you choose to sign in later)
• Minimal technical data: device model, OS version, language, time zone, anonymized IP (short-term only), crash/error logs
• Anonymized usage patterns: which features or tabs are used (no personal linking)

What We Never Collect

• Email addresses, usernames, passwords
• Wallet private keys, seed phrases, addresses or balances
• Payment information (handled 100% by Apple)
• Any private messages, DMs or personal content from Telegram/X/newsletters

4. Why We Use Data

• To make the app function and remember your settings/watchlists/alerts
• To send only the push notifications you explicitly enable
• To fix bugs and improve the app (using anonymized stats only)
• To prevent abuse and protect the service

5. Third Parties

No third parties receive any personal data from users.
All data processing (market feeds, on-chain, news, social sentiment scans, AI) runs on backend infrastructure controlled solely by the operator.

Apple only handles: App Store distribution, push notification delivery (APNs), and any future in-app purchases.

6. Social Sentiment & AI

We aggregate only public data from Telegram channels, X posts and newsletters for sentiment, narratives and token signals — no different from any public aggregator. No access to private accounts, DMs or personal feeds.

AI (self-hosted models) processes public data + your optional watchlist/portfolio for insights/recaps/signals. No data used for training external models. Outputs are informational — never financial advice.

7. Push Notifications

Sent exclusively with your explicit opt-in. You control every category in settings:

• Price & ROC alerts
• Technical signals (RSI/MACD/pump-dump/spoofing)
• Breaking news & impact alerts
• Whale alerts (>$20M)
• ETF flows (BTC/ETH/XRP/SOL)
• Economic calendar events
• AI Market Recap digests
• Polymarket moves
• Combined alert widget
• Future categories

Disable anytime via app settings or iOS system controls.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

• Watchlist/portfolio/alerts/dashboard settings: kept while in use; securely deleted on your request or after long inactivity
• Anonymized IP address & technical logs: maximum 30 days
• Anonymized usage stats: maximum 12 months
• Crash/error logs: maximum 90 days

On deletion request or end of retention: data is securely deleted (not merely anonymized).

9. GDPR Rights (EEA/EU Residents)

Even as a private individual, if you are in the European Economic Area we apply GDPR principles:

• Right of access – see what (little) personal data we hold
• Right to rectification – correct inaccurate data
• Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) – request deletion
• Right to restriction – limit processing in specific cases
• Right to data portability – receive your data in structured form
• Right to object – object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Right to withdraw consent – e.g. stop notifications anytime
